One-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka suffered an injury during the latest episode of SmackDown. Fans were shocked and concerned to see a top performer get injured so close to WrestleMania 40. Now, a major update regarding her injury has come out.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Bayley was fighting her former best friend Dakota Kai in a single match. This was Kai’s first televised match after her return from an injury, but it ended in a disqualification. WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky led Damage CTRL and brutally attacked the Role Model. However, during the beatdown, The Empress of Tomorrow suffered an ankle injury.
As per the latest reports, her name from the live event has been removed for the time being. The positive thing is that the injury doesn’t seem as serious as it looked, but there is still no confirmation of her return. The Kabuki Warriors recently defended their titles against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark on Raw.
Asuka and Kairi Sane are expected to defend their tag team titles at WrestleMania 40, but their opponents are not yet confirmed. From the looks of it, Naomi and Bianca Belair are emerging as the top contenders to challenge their titles. The Women’s Tag Team Titles curse continues as another champion gets injured once again. Fans eagerly wait for further updates on Asuka’s injury and wish to see her perform at WrestleMania.
WWE Hall of Fame inductee Bull Nakano praised Asuka and Damage CTRL
WWE recently inducted Bull Nakano into the Hall of Fame class of 2024, and she was really happy about it. When she learned about the news, she started crying and said she would attend the Hall of Fame ceremony to collect the honor and award.
Nakano also had a high amount of praise for WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky, Asuka, and Kairi Sane. The duo also congratulated her for getting inducted into the Hall of Fame on social media. Asuka was the first Japanese female wrestler to sign with WWE in 20 years in 2015, and the last one before her was Nakano herself.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held one day before the WrestleMania in Philadelphia. It will certainly be a proud moment for the Iyo, Asuka, and Sane to see their wrestling idol, Bull Nakano, get the highest award.
