From late 2019 to mid-2021, WWE broadcasted NXT live on Wednesday nights. Airing on USA Network, NXT was a two-hour show from the Capitol Wrestling Center. While AEW, which had begun airing their flagship show Dynamite on TNT, collided with the same timing and day as Wednesday, 8 p.m. ET. Mansoor, who was a part of the NXT roster, recalled supporting Dynamite by watching it at NXT backstage.
While taking with Denise Salcedo, Mansoor was speaking about the fortunate options for WWE. When talking about AEW, he claimed to have been a fan of the promotion since its inception. In citing his love for the Jacksonville-based promotion, Mansoor recalled watching Dynamite on his mobile while having NXT play on the big screen at the backstage. This was meant during the peak of the Wednesday Night Wars.

As NXT was filming at Full Sail University, the Maximum Male Model was learning wrestling while sitting in a lecture hall. The show was displayed on a big screen for the newer talents to buckle up to the moves. But Mansoor and his undisclosed buddies took a different route, learning from Dynamite.
On the big screen there'd be NXT and on the small there'd be AEW. And I was like, 'This is like great. This is like the Monday Night Wars. Like, I never got to live through that so it's super cool that I'm experiencing it now.Mansoor about watching AEW Dynamite during the Wednesday Night Wars
Mansoor was released in September 2023 as a part of WWE’s post-merger talent cuts. The Saudi Arabian star operated mainly on Raw before his departure from the company as a jobber. His last match was a 25-man Battle Royal to determine the No.1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship.
Mansoor feels grateful to have AEW as an option for WWE
WWE’s released superstar and current free agent, Mansoor, is foreseeing his future in the independent wrestling scene. In an interview with Denise Salcedo, he said he is open to joining AEW and has a soft spot for them. The reason he stated was for the opportunities that the promotion has created now.

Mansoor cited having close friends working with AEW and feeding their families with the work. For that reason, he is grateful for AEW’s existence and for helping out those needy staff even in a pandemic. He mentioned people leaving America; if not, they would have gotten a work visa associated with AEW.
He is gracious for the alternative AEW brings to the plate in front of the behemoth WWE. Mansoor freely spoke of this stuff due to his WWE release back in September. The Maximum Male Model’s 90-day non-compete clause has ended, thus seeing him in Deadlock Pro-Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling.
