As the Royal Rumble event gets closer, Maryse shares her views on one of the biggest events of the year while also sending a lovely message to her former rival.

The Royal Rumble event is just days away. Fans wait a whole year to witness one of the most unique matches in WWE. The event is celebrated and hailed by many fans as one of the best events of the year. And it is not just the fans but also the WWE superstars who enjoy the event as well. Maryse revealed that it is among her favorite events of the year and took the time to send a sweet message to Beth Phoenix as well.

Maryse recently posted a photo on Twitter of her and Beth Phoenix in the ring during a promo segment. She tweeted with the photo, “One of my favorite @WWE events is coming up. So cool @TheBethPhoenix & I have wrestled each other in 3 decades… Our first match was at OVW in 2006 then so many in between, both of us having daughters then wrestling again last year with our husbands at the #RoyalRumble”

Miz and Edge had a feud last year leading up to the mixed tag match at the Royal Rumble. Both superstars were tagged with their wives, and Edge and Beth Phoenix came out as the winners in that match. Both Maryse and Beth Phoenix haven’t wrestled a match since then. Maryse was last seen on TV during the Miz storyline with Dexter Lumis in October last year.

Mike Mizanin and Maryse Ouellet are known by wrestling fans as the ultimate power couple. They got married in 2014 and have had 2 children since then, named Monroe and Madison. After getting released in 2011, Maryse returned to WWE five years later as a manager for her husband. This was the first time both of them were acknowledged as an on-screen couple by WWE. The same year, Maryse was featured in the reality show Total Divas.

Ever since then, the fans have seen Maryse sporadically helping out Miz in his matches. The couple has had three matches as a tag team. They wrestled John Cena and Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33 in a lost cause, followed by a victory against Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan at Hell in a Cell 2018. The match at Royal Rumble was their third and to date last mixed match in WWE.

After starring in Total Divas, Maryse and The Miz signed a spin-off series of the franchise focused exclusively on their lives called Miz and Mrs. The show aired its third season last year on the USA network.
