Former Intercontinental Champion comments on coming back to WWE after wife Chelsea Green won Women’s Tag Team Championships

Chelsea Green won the Women’s Tag Team Championship last July. It is her first title on the main roster and so it holds paramount significance for her. Recently, in an interview, her husband, Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, expressed his views about a potential return to WWE after being out for years.
Matt Cardona’s last run in WWE made a special place in the hearts of the WWE Universe. However, he left WWE a couple of years ago. Recently, in an interview, Cardona went on saying “If Tony Khan and Triple H called, of course I would answer.” This could be a tease towards a possible return to WWE or AEW.
The former WWE Superstar went on to say “I’m not interested in matches, I’m interested in money.” Cardona has been a big name in the wrestling industry for some time now. He has also added his name to the class of NWA World Heavyweight Champions. He has been working as a wrestling freelancer for quite some time now.
Since last July, Chelsea Green has been the Women’s Tag Team Champion in WWE. The company has been constantly featuring her on the weekly show. It will be an interesting choice for Matt Cardona if he makes his grand return to WWE at some point. Fans will be excited to see the couple working together in the Stamford-based promotion.

Lately, Chelsea Green has become a prominent superstar in the WWE women’s division. She recently called out former WWE Superstar Maria Kanellis to praise her. The Women’s Tag Team Champion replied to a post on X, saying Maria is the GOAT of believable overacting.
Chelsea Green praised Maria Kanellis, saying, “Literally the only reason I understand how to be a character. Maria is the GOAT of believable overacting.” Chelsea has been playing a heel gimmick as of now. Her gratitude to the former superstar has been appreciated by many of her fans.
Chelsea Green has been in the spotlight lately as she is currently one-half of the WWE Women’s Team Team Champions. Moreover, her second run in WWE has been good for her. It is going to be interesting to see where Green is headed from here on out as she finds a way to cooperate with her partner, Piper Niven.
