The Original Bro Matt Riddle was one of the most entertaining WWE stars. His recent release from the company disheartened his longtime fans. The post-merger talent cuts became an excuse, but his violations of WWE’s rules were the main reason for his departure. A month after his release, he has been advertised to hit the rings against current AEW star Rob Van Dam.

Bobby Fulton took on X to first break the news about Matt’s in-ring return. Double D’s Auction House and Big Time Wrestling will come together on Saturday, March 9. The event titled The Reunion 3: Cavalcade of Legends will host a first-time match between Riddle and Van Dam at the OU-Shoemaker Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. The show being five months away from now been opened for ticket booking.

Riddle and RVD have been friends before the former even landed in WWE. Stories from Van Dam state that he once smoked weed with The King of Bros during his UFC days. This shows the immense bonding between the stars as their common factor lay in addition to wrestling as well as weed. Thus, it will be exciting to see what these stars can deliver when put in front of each other inside the squared circle.

The Reunion 3 has even advertised distinct WWE Hall of Famers like Kurt Angle, The Honky Tonk Man and Gerald Brisco. Fan signings, Fan Fest Meet and Greet will also be an essential part of the show which looks jam-packed for now. While more matches add up, Riddle vs. RVD will headline the event.

Rob Van Dam has a name for his tag team with Hook on AEW

The latest signed AEW star Rob Van Dam currently performs on Wednesday Nights. Last week on Dynamite he teamed up with FTW Champion Hook to take on Dark Order. The unholy tag team was made as a result of Van Dam’s friendship with Tazz (Hook’s father) and his involvement in the FTW title scenario.

While talking on his podcast, 1 of a Kind, Van Dam stated that people suggested names for the team. He claimed that fans threw out some great stuff and ideas for the duo but only one of them stuck in his mind. ‘Smoke and Choke’ was something that defined the babyface duo and felt perfect for RVD.

Rob’s first match in AEW saw him competing against Jack Perry for the FTW Championship. But the heel star’s loss at AEW All In made the title go in Babyface’s hands for the better sake. Van Dam will now mentor Hook and could challenge for the title directly with respect.
