Once a “Wiseman” said that, in some instances, one needs to leave a place to get everything they need out of it. Mercedes Mone, erstwhile Sasha Banks, was in one such point in time back in 2022. Her unceremonious walkout on WWE engendered ripple effects throughout the industry. A couple of years removed, The Boss has discussed what led to that decision. Not only that, she said she’s got some unfinished business in WWE.

Speaking to The Kick Rocks Wrestling Podcast, she delved into how she was able to make the toughest decision of her life. However, Mone’s inner conscience told her she needed to stand up for herself. The former IWGP Women’s Champion said she didn’t regret going into the business for herself.

She wouldn’t have traveled the roads she traveled and the non-wrestling tangos she’s had without having made her mind that day. Before giving it a pause, the Mandalorian actress dropped a bombshell. Mercedes said she knows she’s going to be back in WWE somewhere down the road.

Something told me I needed to do this & stand up for myself. It was a very hard decision because wrestling in WWE has been my whole life, hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my whole life. I know I'm gonna be back there one day.

She didn’t choose to keep that conversation only about herself. How could she had not mentioned Bayley? The Blueprint lauded her bestie for the love she’s been getting of late. Banks affirmed that The Role Model means a lot to WWE’s women’s division. Moreover, the African-American wrestler also said that Bayley deserves to main event WrestleMania.

Mercedes Mone to make her AEW debut next week

During the aforementioned interview, Mercedes Mone divulged that she has found a home in wrestling. There’s been enough ado in regards to her AEW debut. The ex-Sasha Banks is believed to be headed to her home city of Boston this Thursday at AEW: Big Business.

Though she’s been on their payroll for quite a while now, Banks is all set to join the company in an official capacity. With her addition, the Tony Khan-led promotion is pegged to change for the better.

AEW is riding on the momentum from the recent inflows of Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada. Mone’s inclusion will only add to the cause. There’s a lot Mercedes can do upon her arrival in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
