“Lucky to have him!”- Michael Cole comments on Pat McAfee’s multiyear contract agreement with WWE

Pat McAfee is presently in the limelight as a result of his phenomenal WWE experience. Pat has wowed the WWE Universe with both his commentary and his in-ring prowess. Pat McAfee recently confessed to the WWE Universe about how grateful he is to be a part of the company and that he is having the time of his life. McAfee also has a YouTube Channel named “The Pat McAfee Show” with 1.89 million Subscribers as of now.

Pat McAfee was signed to WWE in 2018 and appeared as a pre-show analyst for the NXT Brand. McAfee was then involved in a feud with Adam Cole and wrestled his first match for WWE against Cole at the NXT Takeover XXX, Pat lost the bout but his wrestling ability and his promos before the match were praised by wrestlers such as CM Punk and former commentator and Bookie Jim Cornette.

Pat McAfee moved to the SmackDown Brand in 2021

In April 2021, Pat McAfee made his main roster debut and now, he co-anchors the SmackDown Brand with Michael Cole as a commentator. In March 2022 McAfee interviewed the then CEO and Chairman of the company Vince McMahon on his show “The Pat McAfee Show” during which McMahon offered him a match at WrestleMania 38. McAfee had been a lifelong wrestling fan and it was like a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to wrestle at the company’s Flagship event.

McAfee accepted the offer and his opponent was revealed to be Theory. Theory was accompanied by Vince McMahon at the event but McAfee defeated him and impressed the WWE Universe with his moves especially the Superplex to Theory from the top turnbuckle. Vince McMahon then Challenged McAfee for a bout, wrestling his first match in 12 years. Vince defeated McAfee with the help of Theory but in the end all three of them would get a stunner from the Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The WWE announced today that McAfee has extended his contract with them for a number of years. Michael Cole reacted to the statement by saying that while he has been employed by the company for 25 years, working with Pat McAfee is the pleasure of every week. Michael claims that the former footballer’s enthusiasm is contagious and that McAfee has helped him reinvigorate his passion for the industry. Cole finished by noting that the WWE Universe and himself are incredibly fortunate to have McAfee on their side.

Pat McAfee is now in an ongoing feud with another former footballer and his Indianapolis Colts teammate Happy Corbin. McAfee will face Corbin at SummerSlam on July 30th.
