Ronda Rousey has often been criticized for her second run in the WWE. After one of the greatest rookie years in the business in 2018, fans believe her return has been a disappointment. However, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley had contrasting thoughts on this, as he highly praised the former UFC star.
In his recent Facebook post, Foley wrote about the influence Ronda Rousey has had on the industry. First, he accepted that the underwhelming second run was due to her lack of emotional investment. Furthermore, the legend stated that the Baddest Woman On The Planet’s initial stint injected a lot of credibility into the product as a whole.
“Without Ronda, it’s highly unlikely WWE would have featured a women’s match as its main event at WrestleMania in 2019,” he said. Moreover, the WWE veteran heaped praise on Ronda Rousey’s rapid progress in the WWE. He compared her learning curve to the likes of Stone Cold, The Rock, and Kurt Angle.
Despite that, he mentioned that the one thing that held her back from being an all-time great was her mic skills. Mick Foley believes that this was one of the many reasons she could not connect with the fans. However, the Hall of Famer penned down his appreciation for the Rowdy One.
Rousey made history alongside Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. They became the first women to main event the Showcase Of Immortals as they took part in a triple-threat “Winner Take All” bout. This truly revolutionized the landscape and set an example for the women’s revolution.

Ronda Rousey possibly wrestled her final WWE match when she squared off against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam. It was the first ever MMA rules match, which ended with the latter emerging victorious via submission. Reports had suggested that this was Ronda’s final bout in the company, with a few rumors suggesting she might return to the UFC.
However, the Queen of Spades confirmed that this was not her final appearance. Speaking to Inside The Ropes, she said, “Whether it’s next week or next year, it is not the last that we will see of her. We’ll see what happens.” With this, she mentioned that the former Women’s Champion was not done with the industry, but there is no exact time frame for her hiatus as well.
Rousey had recently posted on her Instagram, seemingly confirming that she was done for now. Despite Shayna Baszler’s interview, she claimed that her victory drove Ronda Rousey out of the company. Fans are hoping that if she does return, her next run should be similar to her debut.
