The moment fans have been waiting for happened this week when CM Punk made himself exclusive to Raw. But before all this started, Punk cut a promo on Raw and mentioned how Cleveland has seen his ups and downs all through his career. He mentioned a moment when he made his first official WWE appearance with Mickie James in 2005. Now, in response to that unexpected mention, James has responded to Punk.

Mickie has taken to X to post a picture of walking down the ramp with Punk, seemingly at WWE Sunday Night Heat in 2005. The post came in as a reply to another post that showed the part of Punk’s promo with James’ mention. The Psychotic Diva wrote about The Second City Saint being her brother and her friend at the same time.

When Punk and James made this appearance, they were in a kayfabe romantic angle. She was wrestling with the ring name Alexis Laree and went on to progress in WWE as she graduated from Ohio Valley Wrestling. Nonetheless, Punk suffered a demotion from the company.

The particular bout was a dark match for Punk, which saw him wrestle against Rob Begley on July 31, 2005. This remains a special lesson-worthy memory for Punk, as it happened in the same Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio, where he was delivering that promo and was to sign with Raw.

CM Punk’s brand signing at the mid-show was a high-viewership act

The Best in the World CM Punk has signed with Raw and will appear on Monday Nights in the coming future. During his promo on Raw, his official entry into the Royal Rumble match was a notable announcement. While the biggest surge could’ve been his confrontation with Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

As all these essential elements happened with Punk, fans have been wondering about the segment’s placement in the show. But Wrestling Observer Radio has provided answers to this and claimed the peak hour to be the reason. Just when the audience was clock hour into the show, WWE brought Punk on Raw.

At 9 PM in the US, the viewership count has always been high. Thus, the signing of Punk would have gained more eyeballs in that time frame. The segment that lasted about 15 minutes did its thing, as his rivalry was set up with a hint stating his WrestleMania main event dream.
