WWE released a dozen superstars in September last year, including some of the most talented superstars like Dolph Ziggler and Mustafa Ali. After his release from the Stamford-based company, Ali made a shocking debut on TNA.

The official account of TNA Wrestling shared a post on X of a video announcing Ali’s debut during this week’s iMPACT! episode. He showed up in a unique and refreshing gimmick. In the video, the 37-year-old talked about change and how he would impact the company with his debut. He further said the landscape of TNA wrestling will change with his arrival.

Mustafa started taking independent bookings and called it a ‘World Tour Campaign’. He wrestled a few matches on the independent circuit. Ali made his NJPW debut in 2024 and challenged Hiromu Takahashi to a match at the Windy City Riot in a pre-taped vignette. In his campaign, he has announced many matches in promotions like HOG Wrestling, Prestige Wrestling, Progress Wrestling, and many more.

Mustafa was scheduled to wrestle Dominik Mysterio at NXT: No Mercy. However, he was immediately released nine days before his bout, along with some other notable superstars. The fans are pleased about his move and hope that he excels in his endeavors outside the Stamford-based promotion.

A look at Mustafa Ali’s World Tour campaign after his WWE release

After his release from WWE, Mustafa Ali immediately announced he would wrestle in the independent circuit. Many of his matches are announced for the year, and he has already competed and won a few matches at different promotions.

Ali wrestled his last match in WWE against Dragon Lee and defeated him on NXT. After his release, his first match was against Aigle Blanc in the APC Catch promotion, and he defeated him in an amazing 20-minute match. His ongoing record is 6 wins and 0 losses in this campaign, and he has wrestled in promotions like GCW and Demand Lucha.

Furthermore, he has even announced his match against popular wrestler Alex Shelly in HOG Wrestling on March 2nd. Before that, he will wrestle Judas Icarus in DEFY Wrestling on February 9th. As of now, it’s unknown whom he will wrestle in TNA, but Mustafa Ali is making a name for himself all over the world with this successful campaign.
