Not too long ago, the Stamford-based promotion executed its talent layoffs and released a handful of WWE superstars. One of the prominent names removed from the company was Mustafa Ali. He confirmed his release through social media. The superstar has now taken the same medium to make an exciting announcement regarding his plans.
The former WWE superstar took to his X handle and shared a dapper photo of him in a formal two-piece suit. He captioned the tweet and wrote, “MUSTAFA ALI x WORLD TOUR,” suggesting that he is open to booking matches in different promotions. He added his email address right below the caption for further booking inquiries.
Ali’s tweet suggests that he will retain his in-ring name in his future endeavors. Typically, released main roster superstars are subject to a 90-day non-compete clause, while it’s only 30 days for NXT talents.
As Ali moved to NXT from the main roster, WWE deemed him as a contracted main roster star. Hence, the 37-year-old can perform in any promotion only after the expiration of his 90-day non-compete clause. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Mustafa Ali.

Mustafa Ali reacts to Trick Williams replacing him against Dominik Mysterio at No Mercy
Before his sudden release from the company, Mustafa Ali was set to battle Dominik Mysterio this coming weekend at No Mercy. Now, almost a week after his release, WWE has finally found their replacement for Ali in Trick Williams. As a result, the former WWE star reacted to Williams’ replacing him in the match against Dominik.
This week on NXT, a triple-threat match featuring Dragon Lee, Axiom, and Tyler Bate was announced by Shawn Michaels. Later, Trick Williams turned the triple threat into a fatal four-way match by inserting himself into it. He successfully defeated the other three superstars to earn a title shot against the NXT North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio.
The following night, Mysterio’s original opponent and former WWE star, Mustafa Ali, took to social media and reacted to Williams’ replacing him in the match. He wrote, “good for trick, deserves it,” extending his support to the latter. The WWE Universe is excitedly looking forward to the match between Dominik Mysterio and Trick Williams on September 30 at No Mercy.
