Naomi in WWE

Naomi has been a decent performer in the ring and has managed to constantly grow and develop herself in the company. Naomi has always tried to add uniqueness to her move set and has been a hard worker in the company. The Former SmackDown Women’s Champion was signed to the company in 2009 and was assigned the developmental territory FCW, where she defeated Serena Deeb to become the inaugural FCW Divas Champion in August 2010. She lost the Championship to AJ Lee in January 2011.

Naomi made her main roster debut in January 2012 on RAW Brand and formed the team The Funkadactyls with Cameron. Brodus Clay and Lord Tensai were also a part of the team. she also had championship pursuits going on, while also being a part of the group but failed to win the Divas Championship. In July 2014, Naomi and Cameron lost the tag team match against Paige and AJ Lee after which they were involved in a brawl, thereby dissolving the The Funkadactyls. Thereafter she was involved with the Usos during their feud with The Miz, and was also a part of Team B.A.D from 2015 to 2016.

In May 2016, Naomi had been inactive due to a torn ankle tendon, she was drafted to Smackdown Brand in July of that year and returned as a face and with a new gimmick “The Glow”. After the 2016 Survivor Series she was inactive for three months due to an injury.

Naomi returned in January and confronted Alexa Bliss and challenged her to a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber. She defeated Bliss at the event to win the Women Championship for the first time in her career. she then defended her Championship on several occasions and was ultimately defeated by Natalya at the SummerSlam 2017.

This year Naomi and Sasha Banks reunited as the B.A.D duo and won the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 38. In May of this year Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out if the building after a chat with Vince McMahon, citing creative differences as the reason. WWE then suspended both the women indefinitely.
