Top WWE Official propounds why CM Punk’s return to the company is seemingly inevitable

Former AEW star CM Punk is undoubtedly a prominent name in the wrestling business. The Second City Saint never falters to keep his momentum afloat, having the whole wrestling community talk about him. Recently, a top WWE Official offered his thoughts on Punk’s potential return to WWE. The name in question is SmackDown’s General Manager, Nick Aldis.
In a recent conversation with Rob Butler of BBC Norfolk, Nick Aldis shared his honest opinion about the former AEW Champion. Aldis stated that there is a way for the 45-year-old superstar to make his way to WWE. CM Punk could be back in WWE solely due to his star power and drawing capabilities, per the former NWA star.
Nick Aldis believes that the Straight Edge Superstar is a massive needle mover. He supported his stance by asserting that CM Punk draws ratings, brings tons of merchandise sales, and sells tickets. The WWE Official simply said that the 45-year-old signing with WWE would be good for business for both parties. Nick Aldis believes that it is inevitable due to the star power CM Punk has.

Furthermore, he added that the CM Punk’s sheer stardom alone negates all the controversial aspects of the superstar. Moreover, the Second City Saint was the top-leading merchandise mover in AEW for 2023. He achieved this remarkable feat irrespective of his long absence from the AEW roster for the majority of 2023. In early September, Punk was terminated from All Elite Wrestling.

Recently, Nick Aldis provided his honest thoughts about the former’s potential comeback to WWE. The SmackDown GM alleged that an eminent media house misrepresented his statement about Punk.
In the aforementioned news article, the 37-year-old shared his opinion with regards to the buzzing rumors around CM Punk’s return to WWE. Addressing the rumors, Aldis stated that if WWE and Punk indeed strike a deal, it would be beneficial to both parties from a business standpoint. However, those words were warped by the BBC Norfolk presenter, per the SmackDown GM.

Calling out the media outlet, Aldis expressed his disappointment over taking his words out of context. Furthermore, he said that he has no vested interest in the CM Punk-WWE situation. The SmackDown GM stated that commenting on such things is above his paygrade. Nonetheless, the latest report suggests that no deal has been finalized between Punk and WWE as of yet.
