Nikki Bella’s WWE run goes down in history as one of the greatest. However, not everyone perceived her as the greatest personality for numerous reasons. Although retired, the former WWE Divas Champion is often seen talking about the professional journey that she had while she was still signed to WWE.
Speaking to Renee Paquette on The Sessions, Nikki Bella talked about various things that she had to undergo in her WWE run. Nikki said that she and her twin sister, Brie Bella, were thought to care only about reality shows. Moreover, their co-star AJ Lee claimed that the Bella twins made it to the top only because of their men, John Cena and Daniel Bryan.
“Total Divas should have been praised even more, I felt, because what we were doing was, we were literally almost at the point of beating the Kardashians in ratings,” Nikki Bella said. The show was a massive success and had the power to lead the industry. However, it drew criticism from other WWE women.
The success of the show caused the other women in the division to envy the Bella Twins. They didn’t need any of the camera time when they returned to the ring, but they wanted to make a difference in the women’s division. She also felt that the work of the women wasn’t being acknowledged enough, and she wanted to change that.

Nikki Bella received lots of hate for winning the Diva of the year award
They say with great power comes great responsibility, and Niki’s statements to Renee Paquette have strengthened the same. The happiness of receiving the award was crushed within moments as the people started hating them. They claimed that the award was given only because she had a lot of women following her now.
The WWE locker room wasn’t the only place where she received hate; she also received it from the fans. She previously stated that only 10% of people were genuinely pleased with her, with the remainder labeled as her haters. She felt that the fans believed that they owned her, but that wasn’t the case.
However, these people had no control over ‘Total Divas’ and the success that followed. The people backstage felt that the Bella Twins would now fail inside the ring, but their thoughts fell flat as they performed well in the squared circle as well. Nikki Bella acknowledged that there was a sense of jealousy and envy among these women after their success in reality shows.
