Former WWE stars Nikki Bella and Brie Bella, who’ve now redeemed themselves as The Garcia Twins, have had a tumultuous few months with WWE. Both parties mutually cut ties this year in March, and they don’t see eye to eye anymore. Last night, Nikki interviewed with NBC Chicago. Upon turning 40, the former Divas Champion couldn’t hold herself back while offering her two cents on WWE’s latest attempt to bury her.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Michael Cole promoted USA Network’s game show Barmageddon. However, the legendary commentator missed out on name-dropping the show host, Nikki Garcia. It appeared as if it was done on purpose, and WWE deliberately omitted Nikki’s name from its programming. Reacting to the same, the 40-year-old said that what happened disappointed her.
Maybe there were some personal things that happened over the years that also pushed me toward that but I think more than anything it's disappointing because I don't see it happening with the men. For some reason with the women who are outspoken and we've seen this with the women in the past, they just want to ban us.Nikki Bella via NBC Chicago
She recounted giving 16 years of her life to WWE and paving the way for women. Nikki specifically put weight on the fact that WWE snubs its female employees who’ve been outspoken. The former Divas Champion even accused the Stamford-based promotion of imposing a ban on them. However, she ended her stance on a high, as Nikki Garcia affirmed that her show at least got a shout-out on Monday Night Raw.
When did Nikki Bella last appeared on WWE television?
Back at the Royal Rumble in 2022, Nikki and Brie entered the women’s Royal Rumble match. Emanating in front of a packed house at the 24th spot in St. Louis, Nikki got a massive reception. She even eliminated Alicia Fox and Sarah Logan before her own sister, Brie, threw her over the top rope. It remains the last WWE appearance for The Garcia Twins.
This year, on March 14, Nikki and Brie announced that their WWE contract had expired. And they decided not to renew it. Moreover, the twin sisters reverted to their maiden name, ‘Garcia’. Another incident that escalated Garcia’s scorn for WWE happened in January. As known, WWE commemorated 30 years of Raw through a special episode that featured legends from the past.
At one point, The Garcia Twins were also advertised. However, the amendments saw them get off the promotional material, and eventually Nikki & Brie didn’t show up at all. Nikki bashed WWE for misrepresenting its women’s division. And it all went downhill from there.
