Nikki Bella was a dominant force during her time in WWE. Bella holds the record for the longest reign as the Divas Champion. She has won the now defunct Championship two times in her career. Nikki also won the Choice female athlete award alongside her sister at the 2016 Teen Choice awards. Nikki Bella won the Divas Championship for the first time at an edition of RAW in a Lumberjilis match against Beth Phoenix. Nikki’s first reign lasted only six days and lost the title to Layla.
Nikki Bella won the Divas Championship for the second time when she defeated AJ Lee at the 2014 Survivor Series and thereafter held the title for 301 days, the longest reign for the Championship. During that time Nikki defended her title on numerous occasions, until she lost it to Charlotte Flair at The Night of Champions Live event in 2015. Flair was the final Divas Champion as the title was then deactivated. Nikki Bella now works as an ambassador for WWE.
Nikki Bella was once engaged to WWE Superstar John Cena
Nikki Bella started dating John Cena in 2012. In 2017, At WrestleMania 33, John Cena and Nikki Bella participated in a mixed tag team match against The Miz and Maryse. Cena and Bella successfully defeated them and thereafter John proposed Nikki Bella by kneeling down in front of her and presenting her a diamond ring. Bella accepted the proposal and the couple became engaged that day.
John and Nikki even appeared on the reality TV Show Total Divas, The portrayal of their relationship on the show was a loving one and it appeared that the two would be together for the rest of their lives. The two were about to marry on May 5, 2018 but the couple cancelled their wedding in April of that year and It is said that Nikki was the one who has called off their wedding. The choice to have children in their life is reported to have been the cause for the couple’s split. Nikki Bella wanted children, however John didn’t, and this is said to be a big factor in their separation.
Nikki Bella has since been engaged to Professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev, who was her partner at the Dancing with the Stars Season 25. The two have a son Mateo born in July 2020. Recently during the latest episode of The Bellas Podcast, She chatted with her sister Brie, who was also vacationing with her in Lake Tahoe with her family.
Nikki revealed that her baby had a bad stomach virus and that when a child is sick it is the biggest challenge for her as a mom. She continued, When Mateo is sick, it makes her very emotional and she breaks down. She stated that seeing her child in pain and being powerless to help is the worst thing in the world.
“My poor baby boy,This has been the biggest challenge yet as a mom. It makes you so emotional and you break down. Like we’re having so much fun [on vacation], why did this have to happen? But to see your little one in so much pain, and you can’t do anything…”
Bella also offered an update on her son’s health on the last day of their vacation that Mateo was feeling better and was in good spirits.
