Nikkita Lyons has been absent from WWE television since January. She suffered a meniscus, and a torn ACL, which required immediate surgery. The NXT superstar recently updated fans on her recovery status and return in an Instagram post.

As per Nikkita, she will begin training in-ring soon. Along with that, she posted a clip that showed her twerking skills. “mood bc she gets to start training in the ring again soon, everyone I’ve seen do the #waterchallenge has KILLED IT. I wanted to try lolll,” the 24-year-old captioned the video.

The “waterchallenge” is an ongoing trend that has gone viral over the past few days. To summarize, it is a dance step that includes a mix of twerking and belly dancing. Therefore, Nikkita Lyons decided to join in and try the step that has been featured prominently on social media platforms. Nikkita Lyons debuted on NXT in early 2022. Later that year, WWE announced that she would compete alongside Zoey Stark in a tournament to determine the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, they were removed from the tournament on an episode of SmackDown. The pair teamed briefly before engaging in a rivalry after Stark betrayed her tag team partner. Afterward, Blair Davenport attacked Lyons, writing her off television as she required surgery.

Nikkita Lyons garnered praise from Booker T

Nikkita Lyons is currently on hiatus, recovering from a meniscus and torn ACL. Since her debut on NXT, she has been a prominent feature on screen. A while back, Booker T talked about Lyons’ potential and what may be in store for her once she returns.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the legend claimed that the 24-year-old is a future NXT Champion. “She could be a champion in NXT, no problem. The thing is, what I see with Nikkita: if she does get the championship, who’s gonna beat her? That’s the thing I’m wondering with her. She could go on a hell of a run,” said the five-time World Champion.

Evidently, Nikkita Lyons has shown her in-ring talent in her short run on the Gold brand. Fans are awaiting the return of the Lioness and what lies ahead for her. Lyons’ last appearance came during the January 24 edition of NXT.
