WWE Commentator Kevin Patrick is under some fire from wrestling fans. According to many fans, his commentary on the Blue brand has not been up to the mark. Now, some WWE officials also think that he needs to step up his game.
WrestleOps shared a post on X saying according to PWInsider, the higher-ups are keeping a close eye on how he does without the legendary commentator Michael Cole. The pressure is on him, as it is to be said that he needs to improve if he wants to maintain his position.
The major concern regarding Kevin’s commentary is that his timing to call the moves out is so off. Sometimes it’s just dead silence during the matches and his fellow commentator Corey Graves has also mocked him during live commentary.
He started commentating on Raw in October 2022, before moving to SmackDown in 2023. Kevin said he has learned so much from Michael Cole from their time together on the commentary desk. He is also a commentator for MLS football games outside WWE.
Wrestling fans also believe that Kevin Patrick should be replaced from his spot
The news about the officials keeping a close eye on the SmackDown commentator Kevin Patrick is gaining a lot of people’s attention. The Fans have also started to join the discussion on social media.
One fan completely agreed with the concern regarding Patrick and expressed his desire to see Vic Joseph, who works on NXT, to replace him. Another fan backed him up and said he would do a good job. Here are some of the top reactions from the fans:
Some fans are saying he should be replaced, while some are in favor of giving him another chance. One fan said he should try as a backstage interviewer, as he has not been great in play-by-play commentary. Another fan said WWE should replace Patrick with the ever-energetic Titus O’Neil.
While some fans criticized him for not doing a good job without the veteran Cole, some said he is doing fine since Corey Graves joined him in the commentary. How will Patrick “step up” his game from here on now remains to be seen.
Following this, the fans are likely going to keep an eye out for his commentary in the upcoming days. One thing is for sure is that if he fails to do so, the chances of him getting replaced with someone else increases even higher.
