BREAKING: Former Divas Champion Paige announces her imminent departure from WWE

Paige

Paige is often considered to be one of the most popular professional wrestlers of all time. Currently a retired professional wrestler, she had kicked off her career way back when she was just 13. Her career had began while performing for her own family’s wrestling promotion. The former Divas Champion was signed by WWE in 2011 after scouting talent in England.

She was welcomed by the WWE Universe with open arms and she went on to become the youngest Divas Champion in the history of the company – having won at the early age of 21. Unfortunately, the former Champion’s run came to a screeching halt after her neck was injured. She had to undergo a surgery for the same.

But the injury was so severe that eventually Paige had to announce her retirement from her in-ring career. This happened way back in 2018. But till date she has been under a WWE contract. She was given an on-screen authority role but that too ended. The former Divas Champion continues to stay in touch with her fans through social media.

The former Divas Champion has been a part of WWE since her injury and is considered to return to the ring any time. But today, Paige shared an heartfelt message to the WWE Universe and announced that she had parted ways with the company. Here’s what she wrote in the message:

“July 7th will be the last day with WWE. I’m so thankful and I appreciate the opportunities that the company has given me. I will always be appreciative of the company that took in an 18-year-old British pale emo girlthat didn’t look like your average diva, giving me the chance of a lifetime and making me feel like a superstar. I know after my neck injury took me out of in-ring status, it was pretty hard to keep me around for as long as you did, and for that, I’m thankful too.”

“Thank you to the WWE Universe. You guys are the most passionate group of fans I’ve ever seen. Hope you continue to stay on this journey with me. I think the toughest part weirdly enough is having to let the Paige name go! But Saraya is helluva name. Kudos to my mum for that one. FYI I’m not saying I’ll never be in the ring. That day will most certainly come again! Wherever the return maybe.”
