Paige is probably one of the best wrestlers that the WWE Universe has ever had. She made a name for herself at a very young age. She became the youngest Divas Champion in the history of WWE. She gave a tough fight to all the other women fighting in the division. She also won the inaugural WWE NXT Divas Championship.
The feats that Paige has attained at such a young age is commendable. She made her first wrestling debut at a young age of 13. She is the only woman to hold the WWE Divas Championship as well as the NXT Women’s Championship simultaneously. Her wrestling style as well as her persona has won her many feats.
Paige was told to change her black outfit
Paige had a typical punk dress in the ring. The other women in the division wore bright colours. While the superstar was in NXT, she faced a tremendous amount of pressure to change from her black outfit into a bright colourful one. Bill DeMott was the coach in NXT and he did not respect how much effort she tried to change herself. Later, Paige got frustrated and decided not to follow any of his suggestions. She also did not like his training methods in the company.
Paige in one of the podcasts said, “I was trying and it was just like f**king hitting a wall. I was just like, ‘F**k this guy, I’m not gonna keep on trying to impress,’ especially when Dusty was telling me the opposite, and I’d rather listen to Dusty Rhodes than Bill DeMott. Dusty Rhodes was just like, ‘No, baby, you’re mysterious, my raven-haired lady, my porcelain princess‘”. Dusty Rhodes had then become the creative director of NXT.
It’s been a long time since Paige is out of action owing to injury. Paige underwent a neck surgery and WWE suspended her for breaching the wellness policy. When she was back in the ring after a long time, she was hit by Sasha Banks on the same spot, costing her her career. She officially took her retirement from the ring this year in April. She however makes appearances at various shows in non-wrestling roles.
