WrestleMania 40 is around the corner, and the excitement has soared to the skies. On Saturday and Sunday, Mania would emanate from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. However, a day before the Shows of Shows, the annual Hall of Fame ceremony would be hosted on Friday. Now that the time has come, the headliner for the Hall of Fame 2024, Paul Heyman, has shared his views on his induction.
While speaking with WrestleRant, Heyman explained why he had accepted the honor in the first place. It needs to be noted that The Special Counsel has declined the induction multiple times beforehand. But this time, all things have come down in his favor and made him accept the honor, mostly due to Triple H.
Paul stated three reasons for accepting the Hall of Fame induction with the major one being the CCO Paul Levesque. He claims that it is the first time Hunter has selected the entire Hall of Fame class and also made the decision to put Heyman in that respectable position. The Wiseman then claimed that turning down the honor this time would have been a disservice and disrespect to HHH.
It would be a terrible disservice to Paul Levesque. It would be a grotesque demonstration of disrespect to Paul Levesque if I were to have turned that down.Paul Heyman about accepting his Hall of Fame 2024 induction
The Bloodline member accepting the honor is his way of showing respect and admiration for WWE and The Game. He also recalled the fact that the induction venue in Philadelphia adds to his honor. The very place where ECW was founded goes back to Philadelphia with its decade-long run. It will be exciting to see what goes down at the City of Brotherly Love for both the Hall of Fame and WrestleMania 40.
The other two reasons for Paul Heyman’s acceptance into the Hall of Fame 2024 induction
Paul Heyman is the first person to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2024. At the Wells Fargo Center on April 5, 2024, the annual ceremony will be held after SmackDown. Heyman is the headliner for the Class of 2024.
The second reason is the venue being in Philadelphia, only a few blocks away from the arena where ECW began. This induction is a homage to the place where it all started.
I accepted the award this year, number one, because it's in Philadelphia and it's a unique opportunity that we are a few blocks away from the corner of Swanson and Rittner where the ECW arena sat.Paul Heyman states two reasons for his acceptance of Hall of Fame 2024 induction
Number two, I'm doing this because my kids have been nagging me about it for years.
The third reason is his kids, who have been nagging about the prolonged honor. Heyman’s kids constantly question him about the HOF induction and that is something Paul would like settle. The Wiseman joked that his kids want to see their father honored but not posthumously.
