Royal Rumble 2024 is just on the horizon. The card is shaping up to be an iconic event with two amazing Rumble matches featuring some mega stars. The men’s Rumble match is headlined by stars such as CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. Although anyone from the two stars is likely to win the match, However, a new report has quaked the winning possibility of the American Nightmare.

Sean Ross Sapp of the Fightful Select reported that, according to recent betting odds, Rhodes is not likely to win the Royal Rumble match. In fact, he is not even among the top two contenders to win the match. He added that according to the betting odds, Gunther is among the top stars to win the match and headline WrestleMania.

As for the other person who is likely to win the match, it is the Best in the World, CM Punk. He has the highest chance of winning it all. Moreover, Gunther has been out of action for the past few weeks. The Ring General recently became a parent and was off-due to the same reason. However, he will be returning to Raw next week.

Some rumors suggest that Rhodes might win a consecutive Rumble match in order to go on a redemption arc against Roman Reigns to finish his story. However, this new report has certainly diminished the chances of Cody winning at the Royal Rumble in Tampa Bay.

Cody Rhodes has been working as the face of the company. He has a huge fanbase and is highly appreciated by the WWE Universe for his personality. Besides, ever since his return, Cody has been presented as a main attraction. However, according to former WWE writer Vince Russo, WWE is not confident about making Rhodes the face of the WWE.

On his Writing with Russo podcast, Vince stated that he does not feel that WWE will ever put Rhodes over. He added that there is a lack of belief in Cody Rhodes, which makes him less likely to become the next face of WWE.

I don't think they are feeling Cody like they wanna feel Cody. I am telling you bro I think there is a little, there is just a little lack of confidence in Cody being the guy. I feel that, I do feel that's the game plan bro. Roman's gonna go over the Rock, and then Cody is gonna win, you know that's gonna help. I just don't feel the confidence is there right now.

It does not look like that as of now. WWE has been constantly pushing Cody in the main event feuds, which makes it clear that he is one of the top guys in the company. Besides, the American Nightmare has been working as a representative of WWE in several places that shed more light on WWE’s belief in Rhodes.
