The latest episode of Raw kicked off with Seth Rollins‘ address on his health and WrestleMania status. As The Visionary was about to give an important update, Gunther and Imperium interrupted him. The Ring General proceeded to talk about his aspirations of winning the Royal Rumble and becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. However, the IC Champion notably messed up while doing so.

Gunther mistakenly claimed he would emerge victorious in the Royal Rumble match on ‘Sunday’, causing a massive blunder. Coincidentally, the WWE production team instantly pulled the PLE advertiser on the right corner of the screen, which had the timing and day, Saturday, written on it. Moreover, Michael Cole on commentary repeatedly emphasized the same after the opening segment ended.

As expected, this led to a barrage of memes online, many pointing out that Gunther would definitely win the Royal Rumble on Sunday. Jokes aside, The Ring General is one of the favorites to win the upcoming bout. After declaring his aspirations on Raw, the possibility of a match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania has enticed the WWE Universe.

While Gunther falls behind Cody Rhodes and CM Punk as favorites, he will likely play a huge part in the Royal Rumble. Fans are anticipating a face-off between him and Brock Lesnar, setting up a WrestleMania showdown. Gunther will defend his Intercontinental Title against Kofi Kingston on next week’s Raw
