WWE witnessed some blockbuster returns last year. Names such as The Rock, CM Punk, and John Cena all returned to WWE. However, one more big name that returned was R-Truth. The superstar returned after a long hiatus to WWE at Survivor Series. He has been entertaining ever since. Recently, the wrestling veteran divulged interesting information that he might have lost his leg after a career-threatening injury.

Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Show, R-Truth said that he had to overcome his leg infection in order to return to the WWE. The former United States Champion added that he had a hole in his knee and had around five bacteria infecting his leg. Moreover, he revealed that he feels it might have happened during surgery.

It was a good four months or five months of just trying to kill the infection, slow it down, stop it, and I’m going mentally crazy because there was a chance, he said, the other option was amputation. You know what I’m saying? So to go from doing the 24/7 stuff, running around, doing things with my kids, to NXT, me and Grayson Waller tearing it down and doing things to stopping and then getting told this? It was a big reality check man. It was a pump the brakes moment.

Moreover, the former 24/7 Champion expressed his mental strain during that time. He called it a reality check on his life when the doctor advised him to have an amputation. It was a career-threatening moment for R-Truth, as it might have led to a permanent see-off of the 52-year-old Superstar from professional wrestling.

However, that was not the case, as R-Truth is back in WWE, and it is safe to say he is as good as ever. He has been involved with Judgment Day lately in a hilarious feud. He has been a constant TV attraction since he came back at Survivor Series. Moreover, he also reunited with The Miz to form Awesome Truth once again a few weeks ago on Raw. It is going to be interesting to see where the future of the superstar is headed from here on out.
