The Viper Randy Orton is one of the most decorated superstars the company will ever have. Even after 20+ years of career, he continues to entertain the WWE Universe with his unique personality and character. As such, The Apex Predator has squared off against several rivals throughout his career. Recently, he thanked current AEW superstar Adam “Edge” Copeland for his character transformation.
Orton gave an interview on WrestleRant and talked about various things regarding his return, theme song, and much more. He stated that he didn’t put much effort into his promos, but when he worked with Edge, his entire perspective changed.
During his rivalry with the Rated-R Superstar, he became one of the biggest heels in the company. Every promo he did received a massive crowd reaction, and he soon realized that he’d been missing out on these things. Orton and Edge were the two prominent stars of the pandemic era and had an intense and personal rivalry.
I was stuck, I wasn’t putting as much time and effort into those promos. Then when I started working with Edge, we had a lot of history and I was able to go into our past and dig up some moments that were completely 100% factual. It’s so much more than wrestling, the promos are so important, and I hate that I was so late to the game on them but just blessed that I am still around so that I can continually improve.Randy Orton on Edge via WrestleRant
Randy Orton was close to winning the Elimination Chamber match, but Logan Paul had other ideas. The U.S. Champion’s knockout strike has potentially set up the match between the two stars at WrestleMania 40. It will be interesting to see whether Orton defeats him and becomes a two-time U.S. champion.
Randy Orton shows extreme amount of appreciation to his old friend Dave Bautista
The Viper Randy Orton and Dave Bautista are long-time friends because of their time together in Evolution at the start of their careers. A lot has changed since then, as Orton is a certified Hall of Famer and Batista has made a name for himself in the Hollywood industry. Orton showed a tremendous amount of respect for Batista for his work in movies.
He was discussing movies and series he watched during his time recovering from injury, and the conversation stumbled upon Batista’s new movie, Dune 2. The 43-year-old stated that he has the utmost respect for him for relentlessly working day after day. Orton also appreciated John Cena and guaranteed that he would be as big as The Rock in a few years.
I'm so proud of the guy man. He's doing such a great job, he's killing it and I respect the hell out of changing from our industry and going into the Hollywood thin because... that's rough man. 12 hours a day on set, you know traveling to and from set, next thing you know like you got six hours to sleep, you can't get to the gym. To me, that sounds like a nightmare.Randy Orton on Dave Bautista via WrestleRant
Orton further stated that he wouldn’t go to Hollywood because he loves wrestling and the reaction from the fans he still gets. As he is moving towards the end of his career, fans have started to respect and love him more. Even though he has been in this business for 20+ years, he is showing no sign of stopping soon.
