Randy Orton reminisces on his spectacular 20 years in WWE

“The Viper” Randy Orton has had an illustrious career in WWE and is regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. The 14-time world champion started is a Third-Generation superstar and signed with WWE in the year 2001. In WWE, as part of what is now known as the OVW 4, Orton, along with Brock Lesnar, David Bautista, and John Cena, was promoted to the main roster in 2002, becoming a part of OVW’s legendary Class of 2002.
Randy Orton recently appeared in a video titled “Randy Orton reacts to his greatest moments for 20th WWE anniversary” on WWE’s official channel reminiscing his 20 years journey in the WWE along with some great rivalries he had with the likes of John Cena and Mick Foley. Reacting to a part of video which showed his debut against Hard Core Holly, Orton said:

“This is my debut, everybody. It was probably one of the most nervous times in my career. It was all riding on this match. As far as I was concerned, my performance in the next few minutes was going to dictate the rest of my career. When I debuted, it was against Hardcore Holly and you gotta understand this guy who was one of the most feared guys in the locker room.”
The match ended after Orton rolled Holly for a surprise pin thus giving the rookie his first win in WWE.
Randy Orton gives his thoughts on John Cena
Randy Orton’s tenure has allowed him to work and feud with several superstars that include the like of John Cena, Bautista, Triple H and many others. Among the highlights was his TLC match with John Cena at Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2013. The match was for title unification and both WWE championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championship were at line. Orton eventually won the match. Describing Cena as his favorite opponent, Orton said that he misses John:

“I love John, he was my favorite opponent. Coming up, through my career, I learned a lot from him. I just remember it being like every other match I had with John. Especially, big match John… whether it was Manias, Summer-Slams, Royal Rumbles, you name it. He always had the crowd in the palm of his hand. It wasn’t just because they loved him so much, or they hated him so much, he understood how to get those emotions from them. It wasn’t just some coincidence. Dude’s a genius. I miss you, John. I miss you.”
