“He’s not just the son of another wrestler”; Randy Orton gets acclaimed on his insane 20-year anniversary

Randy Orton was once mentored by the likes of Triple H and Ric Flair in The Evolution stable and has un-doubtly mentored younger generation stars including the likes of Cody Rhodes and Riddle. Mostly staying a heel in his entire career, The Viper is currently a Babyface along with Riddle, and is enjoying a great title run as one half of the WWE Raw Tag Team champion along with Riddle.
Currently feuding with The Usos, Riddle and Randy are a team for quite a while and their team, Rk-Bro, is one of the highlights of the RAW brand. Randy Orton has been in the WWE for 20 years and has accomplished just about everything one could wish for in the organization. In addition to having a great deal of knowledge about pro wrestling, he enjoys helping young stars become stars. Randy Orton is also highly respected by Riddle.

While speaking on this week’s The Bump, Matt Riddle talked about Randy Orton vs. Mick Foley at Backlash 2004. Stating that he was incredibly impressed with Orton’s match, Riddle claimed he realized ‘The Legend Killer’ can do it all:
“For me, the one match that stands out in particular and I think it was the match in which he really did a lot. The match that really solidified him for me was the match against Mick Foley. That No-Holds-Barred match where he went for the RKO, got pushed on the tacks, got thrown off the stage and everything and still overcame the odds and still won the match. I think that was the big one for me where I was like, ‘This guy could do it all. He’s not just the son of another wrestler, this guy gets it.’”
Randy Orton not interested in breaking a record?

Randy Orton’s tenure in WWE has seen him winning almost all the gold. He is a 14-time World Champion after all and is the only in-action superstar who is closest to breaking John Cena’s and Ric Flair’s record of 16 World Title wins. The WWE superstar mentioned he might break John Cena and Ric Flair’s record on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast. However, Orton clarified that breaking those records is not necessarily his main objective:
“I would not necessarily say it is a goal, no. If that doesn’t happen I’m not really going to be sad about it. I wanna say I’m content with everything I’ve accomplished. Like, I’d definitely love to accomplish more. But, if for some reason, tomorrow, that was it, I think I’d be able to be content with the career that I had.”
