Elimination Chamber 2024 was kicked into gear with the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Six superstars qualified with the same goal, but the surprising name among them was Raquel Rodriguez. She was cleared for her in-ring return last Monday and performed well in the Chamber match. Even though she came out unsuccessful, just the fact that she wrestled at the Optus Stadium was a huge moment for her. She reflected on the experience and journey in her message on an Instagram post.
Rodriguez posted four photos; the first was her selfie with her ring gear on, while the second showed her back during her entrance to the Elimination Chamber. The third photo was of her holding a koala, and the last one showed her allergy growing from her neck to her face. The caption started with the same topic and she claimed that she was unafraid of her pink-turning skin syndrome, which would make it worse.
Raquel, in a dialogue with the fans, stated that the trip did not go as planned, but she was glad to have known her body even better now. She mentioned that the big part of her WWE fascination is not only the wrestling but also the dolling-up process while sitting on the make-up chair. The 33-year-old went out in front of the Australian fans in that Alicia Keys style (non-make-up look), which makes her feel proud.
I love so much and getting to get dolled up. It’s part of being a girl. It’s part of feeling fully the part. At the end of the night, I’m proud I went out there Alicia Keys style. Even if this trip didn’t go as planned I am still grateful that I was blessed to be in Elimination Chamber in Perth Australia with 5 other talented women!Raquel Rodriguez about her non-make-up look for Elimination Chamber 2024
In the end, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion feels blessed to have competed against 5 talented women in Perth. She also explained how a victory came when she hugged the koala and thanked West Oz Wildlife for that opportunity.
She thanked Vanessa of Lymphatic Massage who made her feel great even at those last minutes going into the Chamber. Lastly, she concluded by thanking the WWE medical staff along with her family and friends, who kept on checking on her constantly.
Optus Stadium chanted ‘Bulls*it’ when Raquel Rodriguez kicked out of a massive pinfall
The Women’s Elimination Chamber match saw some incredible moments to kick off the PLE. Ranging from Tiffany Stratton‘s Prettiest Swanton to Liv Morgan‘s Sunset Flip Powerbomb, the match did not disappoint. However, some weak links in the bout had Raquel Rodriguez receiving the heat.
A moment came when four women were in the ring, with Bianca Belair yet to enter. Rodriguez, who was physically efficient enough to handle the rest of the women, was being targeted. Morgan and Becky Lynch teamed up to apply a shared DDT to Raquel and went ahead with the pin. Even Stratton in the latter part, faced a similar scenario as three women stacked on her.
But on the two-and-a-half count, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion kicked out and dispersed the three superstars. The audience seated in the Optus Stadium did not like the scenario and chanted ‘bullsh*t’ against Rodriguez. It was hilarious to see the Australians not support Rodriguez but pour love over Tiffany all through the match.
