Ric Flair fought his final match this year on July 31st at Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. He partnered with his son in law Andrade against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in a tag team match. The match was bloody for Flair as he bled in the bout, something which he wanted to and had decided to fulfil the wish. Many wrestlers were apprehensive about the Nature Boy’s choice to compete in his final match since he was gravely ill last year and had been on the verge of death. In the 1990s, Ric Flair and Bret Hart had an off-screen feud. Bret Hart, according to Flair, utilized the death of his brother Owen and the Montreal screwjob event for personal advantage. In spite of Hart’s fame in Canada, Ric Flair claimed that he wasn’t a profitable draw in the United States. Bret Hart dismissed these claims as absurd and countered that he headlined matches all over the world in sold-out stadiums while Flair competed in empty ones. In addition to criticizing Flair’s in-ring prowess and charging him with misusing the ring’s psychology, Bret Hart has charged Flair of disrespecting other wrestlers Randy Savage and Mick Foley.

The two have reconciled over the years, with Bret Hart even and Mick Foley even attending the 16-time World Champion’s Final match. Today, Ric Flair has shared a photo with Bret Hart from a meet and greet session. Flair stated that they had argued and threw numerous abuses at each other over the last 30 years, but they now consider each other to be lifelong friends.

Ric Flair was released from WWE in 2021 and Bret Hart is currently signed with the company under the legends contract.
