“There is no reserve gas left,” Ric Flair stuns Joe Rogan as he recalls surviving the horrific plane crash

Ric Flair began his wrestling career in the early 1970s and became one of the biggest stars of the 1980s and 1990s. He has appeared in movies and TV shows. And has made guest appearances on various talk shows and podcasts as well. In addition to his wrestling career, Flair is also a motivational speaker and has published several autobiographical books. Furthermore, Ric Flair is blessed with great fortune, as he survived a plane crash several decades ago, which almost ended his career.
During his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, The Nature Boy discussed many aspects regarding his wrestling career and personal life as well. Ric Flair revealed that his wrestling career began in 1973 following the training which started in 1972. The host also brought up the infamous plane crash he suffered in the year 1975.
The WWE Hall of Famer described that the incident took place when he was traveling from Charlotte to Wilmington, North Carolina, along with four other men. He further described how they didn’t know they were out of fuel. And later realized there was no reserve gas as well. And the plane crashed at a speed of 230 miles per hour after losing control.
Prior to the plane crash, the runway where the plane was supposed to land was nearly 100 miles away. And the plane got crashed just 200 yards away from the destination near Wilmington, North Carolina. The former 16-time world champion also disclosed that one of them got paralyzed amid the crash. And he later died, as he never regained the consciousness. Others also got heavily injured in the horrific crash.

Ric Flair was not supposed to wrestle again following the plane crash
Following the plane crash, six men, including the pilot, got injured and were sent to the hospital. As for Ric Flair, he also suffered a horrific injury, as he broke his back in three places. He revealed that he didn’t undergo any surgery as doctors told him he will never ever wrestle again.
However, The Nature Boy was determined to recover and return to the ring. He returned to the wrestle again in March 1976, six months after the crash in October 1975. Despite the injuries, Flair made a remarkable recovery and went on to have a long and successful wrestling career.
Ric is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, with countless accolades in WWE. Moreover, the plane crash remains a significant event in Ric Flair’s life and is often referenced in his interviews and biographies.
