Ridge Holland has not had the easiest of runs in WWE. Over the past few years, he’s gained a negative reputation and has been labeled as an unsafe worker by fans. As a result, the former SmackDown star sometimes receives unnecessary hate online. Recently, Holland decided to hit back at one such ‘fan’ in a sarcastic manner.

The 35-year-old star responded to a user on X who claimed that he deserved nothing good in life. Ridge Holland, in a hilarious tone, pointed out how people are so nice to him. The former Brawling Brutes member debuted on the main roster in late 2021. He soon began teaming with Sheamus and later ‘Butch’ to form the faction.

During his run, Ridge Holland was involved in the injuries of Big E and Elton Prince over the past couple of years. The former suffered a broken nick prior to WrestleMania 38 and has been out of action since, with many suggesting his days as an in-ring performer are over. Meanwhile, Prince suffered a separated shoulder last year but recovered in a few months. Instances such as this have led to fan backlash online, as Holland has been referred to by some as an unsafe worker.

A few have called for him to be fired from WWE. Currently, Ridge Holland has transitioned into a singles star on NXT after leaving Butch and disbanding The Brawling Brutes. Many fans are hopeful that this could be the start of something huge for the 35-year-old.

Will Ridge Holland soon challenge for the NXT Title?

After leaving SmackDown and The Brawling Brutes, Ridge Holland returned to NXT in December. On his first appearance, he challenged the brand’s champion, Ilja Dragunov, to a match. Later in the night, the bout ended after Holland seemingly injured the champion again. Subsequently, he had to be stretchered out of the arena as well.

A worried Ridge looked on as it became evident that his history with similar instances played in his mind. Afterwards, he gave a candid interview about what transpired. However, since then, he’s been engaged in a rivalry with Gallus.

Dragunov is set to defend his title at the upcoming Vengeance PLE against Trick Williams. Therefore, Ridge Holland might be next in line to challenge the champion after the bout.
