The return of CM Punk to WWE will perhaps be one of the biggest things, and Road Dogg feels the same too. The WWE Hall of Famer answered a few questions on the latest episode of the ‘Oh, You Didn’t Know’ podcast. He was asked about who he’d like to bring back to WWE if he was given the desired power. And, without a hiccup, he dropped CM Punk’s name.
The WWE veteran admitted that Punk’s WWE return would move the needle in a big way. The former Outlaws member emphasized Punk’s being a controversial figure at this point in time. And that’s exactly what piques interest. So, the buzz surrounding Punk is exactly what’s best for business, said the SVP of WWE live events during his podcast.
Talking about FTR, Road Dogg said that their WWE return would be acclaimed by the internet. However, he’s not sure that they’d garner the same ratings as CM Punk. The Hall of Famer then went on to say that he would bring back FTR in a heartbeat as it would be great for WWE’s tag division. However, from a business standpoint, Roady rated Punk above everyone, including FTR and The Young Bucks.
However, at the end of the day, CM Punk’s WWE return is only a fantasy. Both parties haven’t possibly mended their fences yet. This year, when RAW emanated from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Punk paid an unprecedented visit backstage. He reportedly met with a handful of talents, including The Miz. When he asked for a few minutes with Triple H, Vince McMahon passed an audible to remove Punk from the arena.

CM Punk sets up huge match for AEW All In
This past week on AEW Collision, CM Punk dressed up as the Golden Vampire to take down Samoa Joe. Their match was supposed to kick off the proceedings in Lexington. However, before the bell even rang, the Vampire stunned Joe. Contrary to what Joe would’ve expected, he wasn’t able to get one up on the golden costume man. Soon, the rookie started using CM Punk’s maneuvers.
Fans had suspected by then that there was something fishy in the matter. And to strengthen their skepticism, the Golden Vampire planted the Samoan Submission Machine with a GTS. He unmasked himself to reveal his identity as none other than CM Punk. Grabbing the mic, Punk accepted Joe’s challenge for AEW All In with the Real World Title on the line.
