The WWE under Triple H‘s regime has truly embarked on a booming period in professional wrestling. While fans are happy to see the changes unfold, backstage morale is at its highest. Of course, many believe this is due to Hunter becoming Head of Creative. However, it seems that Rob Van Dam doesn’t share a similar bond with the fourteen-time World Champion.
During an appearance on the ‘Party with Marty’ podcast, the AEW star revealed that he isn’t on talking terms with Triple H. Moreover, RVD believes this is a big reason for his not returning to WWE. Also, the Hall of Famer claimed that he could still compete at the highest level in professional wrestling.
No… I never really talk to Hunter. If I had that relationship with him where we talked, then maybe I would be there. I’m assuming that’s a big reason why I’m not there…Rob Van Dam on his relationship with Triple H
The 54-year-old is currently signed to rival promotion AEW. While the ECW Original has made only a few sporadic appearances, he has left fans impressed with his in-ring skills. Many are surprised that RVD could still deliver with the same intensity he did during his ‘peak’ years.
Despite Rob Van Dam’s claims, Triple H has shown he is ready to put aside real-life animosity in terms of doing what’s right for the fans. Most notably, the WWE CCO welcomed back CM Punk to the company, settling their past differences in the process as well. Needless to say, a RVD return cannot be ruled out after the events that transpired recently in professional wrestling.
Triple H will have full control over WWE Hall of Fame 2024
The ‘King of Kings’ Triple H has been crucial to WWE’s recent success and record-breaking revenue for the company. Moreover, he reportedly gained more power over Creative after the TKO merger in September. As a result, Hunter might gain full control over next year’s Hall of Fame ceremony as well.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H is all set to decide the 2024 nominees. Furthermore, the Game is expected to be more open to inviting legends outside of WWE to the ceremony. Meltzer revealed that the Hall of Fame has always been under the creative team’s control.
After this news broke, fans were ecstatic about the upcoming ceremony. Many believe that unrecognized names such as Ken Shamrock might be next in line for a well-deserved induction. It will be interesting to see how the Hall of Fame ceremony will be presented under this new change.
