Ronda Rousey rightly called as the ‘Baddest Women on Planet’ given her superior wrestling style which is due to her background in MMA. Ronda Rousey started her career as amateur wrestler taking her mother as her inspiration who was the first American to win the World Judo Championship. Ronda Rousey became the youngest to qualify for the Olympics at just 17 years of age. Four years later Rousey participated in her second Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics which had never been done by an US Judo player.

After retiring from Judo Rousey sought other career options and found her interest in Mixed Martial Art. Rousey who was already a trained judoka adapted to MMA very quickly and learnt Jiu Jitsu under different coaches. In 2010 Rousey made debut in MMA and defeated her opponent in only 23 via a submission. With in two years of making her debut in the sport Rousey became a popular name around the industry owing to her quick victories. In 2012 Ronda Rousey became the Women’s Bantamweight Champion, when she defeated Tate after she dislocated her Elbow.

Ronda Rousey became the first female wrestler to sign for UFC when she agreed terms with Dana White. She was declared as the Women’s Bantamweight Champion following her announcement of signing with the company. At UFC 157 Ronda Rousey successfully defended her title with a dislocated jaw during the fight. Ronda Rousey also held the record for the quickest win in UFC history when she tapped out Zingano in 14 seconds.

After seven successful title defences Ronda Rousey faced Holly Holm at UFC 193 where she lost her title and her first match in UFC history. Following the loss Ronda decided to follow a career in professional wrestling and signed with WWE. Rousey along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair main evented wrestlemania which was the first time in companies’ history.

After taking a break for raising a family Rousey returned to WWE and defeated Charlotte Flair to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion. Soon after she started a feud with long time friend Natalya over the title. The two faced of against each other at MITB premium live event where Ronda Rousey successfully defended her title.

Liv Morgan who had earlier won the MITB briefcase decided to cash it in on the Injured Rousey and ended up defeating her to become the New Smackdown Women’s Champion. After the match Rousey hugged her and congratulated her on the well deserved victory.

After the event it was reported by her photographer that Ronda willingly gave up her title as she wanted some passionate pro wrestler to win it. The news spread widely and has caught attention of many including WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T, who after knowing the news praisedRousey calling her a team player. Booker T on his Hall of Fame show appreciated Rousey’s gesture :

If that’s true, I commend Ronda Rousey. I’m going to step up for Ronda Rousey if she was that unselfish to do something like that. It just goes to show how big she is as well as how big of a team player she is to want to bring someone like Liv Morgan up cause she knows she’s already in a position, she’s made already. But to say, ‘Hey, let’s make Liv Morgan tonight and I’m willing to do it and I’m willing to sacrifice for that.’ I can’t do nothing but give Ronda Rousey a pat on the back for, there again, knowing about the business,”

It will be interesting to see how Ronda Rousey goes about her career in WWE without a title and would be more interesting to see how WWE book the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’.
