Ronda Rousey‘s upcoming autobiography will be released on April 4. Ahead of it, some feisty excerpts from the book have been released that show the UFC legend’s view on WWE, more specifically, Vince McMahon. Rousey has launched a scathing attack on the former chairman amid the ongoing s*xual trafficking lawsuit. In addition to that, she has accused the Stamford-based promotion of indulging in a casting couch culture.

The former Women’s Champion has written in detail about Vince McMahon. Rousey didn’t hesitate to call out the 78-year-old for portraying his real-life persona on television for years. In her description of WWE’s culture and practices, she blatantly pointed out how the women’s revolution in the company was a farce. Most notably, female talent was s*xualized throughout the better part of the promotion’s history.

Ronda Rousey further tore apart the sports entertainment company by claiming that it followed the casting couch culture, similarly to the mainstream industry. The Rowdy One wrote about how, for years, men behind the scenes pressured female talent for s*xual favors in exchange for more on-screen time. The 37-year-old believes that there were many scandals and controversies at the time that were hidden by WWE.

WWE bills itself as a sports entertainment organization, and just like in the mainstream entertainment industry, there was, by all accounts, a casting couch culture where men backstage in powerful positions pressured female talent for s*xual favors in return for airtime.

Rousey recalled the countless degrading segments that the “divas” were put through over the years. At last, she also showered praise on the female wrestlers who changed the culture significantly. The former WWE star also took a shot at the promotion’s deal with Saudi Arabia and the country’s restricted rights for women by implying that it is exactly what McMahon would want as well.

Will Ronda Rousey return to WWE?

Ronda Rousey last competed in WWE at SummerSlam 2023, where she lost against her friend, Shayna Baszler. Since then, rumors have spread of that match being potentially her last ever in the company. Now, the Rowdy One herself has given an update on the possibility of a comeback.

Rousey revealed on her Instagram that WWE’s backstage scene was a sh*tshow. Further, she claimed that she absolutely does not intend on going back to the promotion. Most importantly, she stated that she legitimately hates two of Vince McMahon’s closest allies, John Laurinaitis and Bruce Prichard.

The former Women’s Champion did not have the greatest of times in her second run. The 37-year-old’s matches with the likes of Liv Morgan and Shotzi garnered fan backlash online. Therefore, her departure from the company was always an inevitability.
