Ronda Rousey made headlines after her shocking revelations about her time in WWE, mainly regarding Vince McMahon and his close henchmen. After her last match in WWE against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam, she took a break from professional wrestling. A new report has shed light on her relationships with McMahon and UFC president, Dana White.
According to a recent update in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rousey had different kinds of feelings for different people by the end of her run in WWE. While The Baddest Woman on the Planet maintained friendly relations with Stephanie McMahon and had nothing but positive thoughts regarding Paul ‘Triple H‘ Levesque, she did not like the former chairman at all.
The same cannot be said about Vince McMahon, however, as she felt that WWE had a reputation for encouraging a misogynistic culture. By the time of her departure from the Stamford-based company, she ‘despised’ the 78-year-old. Despite having a great deal of hatred for Vince, Rousey holds her relationship with the president of the company that was merged with WWE, Dana White, close to her heart.
The 37-year-old made appearances in other promotions, like Ring of Honor, after her departure from WWE. Rousey revealed her concussion history as the reason behind her retirement and stated that she would never return to WWE. Moreover, The Baddest Woman on the Planet said that she would reveal more about her WWE tenure in her upcoming book, ‘Our Fight’.
Ronda Rousey targets Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis in her recent remarks
A few months ago, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, accusing him of s*x trafficking and assault. Along with him, John Laurinaitis and WWE were named as defendants in the 67-page lawsuit. It received a boost when Ronda Rousey expressed a strong dislike for both Laurinaitis and McMahon’s alleged right-hand man, Bruce Prichard.
Rousey spoke at the Never Before Told live signing event for the promotion of her new book, ‘Our Fight’. She talked about the real-life conflicts between athletes in MMA and WWE. The Baddest Woman on the Planet claimed to have a few personal conflicts with other martial artists. As for WWE, she said that it’s all fake and superstars often maintain a good relationship.
In MMA, I originally just started them for publicity, but those other itches did not get the memo, and so they became personal. And in WWE, it’s all fake – I love them. Except for Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis. They can go f*ck themselves.Ronda Rousey via Never Before Told interview
However, she made strong remarks against Prichard and Laurinaitis, which hinted she might have had a backstage conflict with them. Previously, she accused McMahon of still running things behind-the-scenes through the help of Prichard. Needless to say, Rousey wasn’t a fan of anyone closely associated with the former chairman backstage.
