Former WWE Superstar and UFC legend Ronda Rousey‘s new book, “Our Fight,” will be published on April 4. The book sheds light on her WWE tenure and the inner conflicts that led to her departure from the company. During her stint, she captured the Women’s Championship three times. Her second championship reign was ended by Liv Morgan at Money In The Bank 2022. However, that wasn’t the plan. Rousey revealed it was supposed to be Lacey Evans instead.

In her book, she stated that Paul Heyman informed her that Evans was going to win the gold. Rousey was completely fine with the decision and passed on the news to Lacey Evans herself. However, the joy of The Sassy Southern Belle was short-lived due to a change in plans. Heyman again called Rousey to inform her that it was going to be Morgan instead of Evans. At that moment, she regretted her decision to prematurely tell Evans she would win.

Ronda Rousey made her emphatic comeback in 2022 and won the women’s Royal Rumble. After losing against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38, she ultimately won the title at WrestleMania Backlash. Her reign didn’t last for longer, as Liv Morgan cashed in her MITB contract and became the new champion.

“Does she know?” I asked. “Not yet,” Paul said. “She’s definitely going to get the title?” I asked. “Has anyone told her?” “Wait a week or so,” Paul said. “If nothing changes, you should definitely be the one to tell her. You’re the one giving her her first title."

Meanwhile, Evans was released from WWE in August 2023 and started her new journey as an OnlyFans model. She expressed her honest opinion in various interviews, claiming that WWE and, in general, wrestling was never her passion. It would’ve been a great story for her to defeat Rousey and become a Women’s Champion. However, due to Vince McMahon‘s change of heart at the last moment, it wasn’t meant to be.

Ronda Rousey revealed the alternative finish for her match against Liv Morgan

After Liv Morgan became the new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, she defended her title against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match. The match finished with the Rowdy One making Morgan pass out with her submission move and winning her title back. However, before the match, both superstars came up with an idea to make their match incredible, which the higher-ups quickly denied.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet described the alternative finish she thought for their match in her book. Both superstars agreed with the idea, which saw them fighting over thumbtacks. Moreover, she described the finish in which she would’ve won the title and Morgan would’ve come out like a hero by not tapping out. And more importantly, the crowd would’ve gone wild over the finish of their match.

"Imagine this finish,” I told Liv, then laid it out. The two of us, grappling on the ground on a ring covered in thumbtacks until I finally get Liv once again in my signature armbar. But Liv, refusing to give up, lets me “break” her arm, passing out from the pain instead of tapping again.

At the end, they had to settle for a finish neither of them were impressed with. That win saw the 37-year-old become the Women’s Champion for the third and last time in her career. Rousey criticized WWE’s habit of not giving the superstars creative freedom, which ultimately became one of the reasons for her departure.
