The Elite sent shockwaves through the wrestling world when they announced the start of a new promotion in 2019. The resulting All Elite Wrestling has had major success since its inception and is currently the second-biggest wrestling company after WWE. When the company started, the founder, Tony Khan, signed multiple wrestlers to three- to four-year contracts. Therefore, now AEW is leading into a big year of renegotiating deals with its talent, and this includes its top stars like The Young Bucks.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, the Young Bucks are currently in conversation with AEW about negotiating their contracts. Amidst these reports, the former AEW tag team champions have teased a move to WWE. The Bucks are known to send messages in their cryptic Twitter bios. They recently changed their bio to “Less than a year left. Where does the time go?” which seems to confirm their contract status.

However, it was a more recent Twitter bio that seemed to tease a WWE debut for the Bucks. The bio read, “It was all a dream.” The fans speculated that this could be a reference to an old episode of Being the Elite, titled “Was it all a Dream?” from 2016. In the episode, Matt Jackson has a nightmare about his time in WWE when he worked as an extra in 2008. As the fans saw last year, Cody Rhodes, another former AEW EVP, jumped ship to the rival company. Therefore, you can never disregard the possibility of the Young Bucks making an appearance in WWE after what transpired last year.

Which wrestlers can jump to WWE apart from The Young Bucks?

As mentioned, AEW and WWE are moving into a big year for talent acquisition. Some major AEW stars might become free agents and be open to signing with the rival company by the end of this year. The biggest name whose contract is potentially up in 2023 is the current AEW world champion, MJF. However, the Salt of the Earth has masterfully woven the real-life story into the kayfabe world, threatening to leave AEW with the World Heavyweight title.

There are also speculations that CM Punk might get released from his contract as soon as AEW can afford to do so without facing any legal ramifications. It would be interesting to see if Punk and WWE would be open to working with each other after what has transpired in the last decade.

The most likely superstars who can jump ship are FTR. The former Revival have contracts expiring in April and have not re-signed as of yet. The former AEW tag team champions have publicly voiced their grievances against the company. Dax Harwood even mentioned that their relationship with Tony Khan and the Young Bucks soured in 2021. This could be a catalyst for their return to WWE.
