Paul Heyman have managed many superstars over his long WWE career, an absolute genius on the mic and a fantastic creative mind backstage is a small part of what defines this man’s brilliance. Heyman is currently aligned with the Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns serving as the special counsel to The Tribal Chief. Reigns is set to defend his gold against Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match at Summerslam premium live event in three weeks at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
Last night on Raw, Heyman interrupted the promo of a returning Brock Lesnar bragging his client’s great deeds and trying to demoralise him before their highly anticipated bout. Former WWE writer Vince Russo highlighted a major issue regarding the promos of Heyman every now and then being so repetitive and containing the same damn words every single time they’re being presented on television. During the SK’s Wrestling Legion of Raw, the former WWE creative member had this to say,
“They put Paul Heyman out there to eat up time. That’s the only reason they put him out there,’ said Vince Russo. “Paul Heyman has not said anything new or different, like literally in the last ten years that I’ve been watching his promos. So yeah, we need to eat up time, so let’s put Paul out there”.
Russo insisted on the fact that WWE just have him to kill the three hours they need to pass for Monday nights and that’s exactly is the reason why he’s being put out there. He even said that Heyman has not anything new or exciting in his promos since last decade or so.
In some other evaluation of what went down last night in San Antonio during the broadcast on USA Network, Russo inclined on the side that Heyman came out to interrupt Brock to eat up some time from the fixed 3 hour slot. He didn’t sounded thrilled by Lesnar getting the members of Alpha Academy to wah his hands on as according to him no one cared about them being there in the same spot with the BEAST.
“Eat time, eat television time. Heyman repeats the same cr**ola, repeating the same for ten years,” added Russo. “Give Lesnar a high spot at the end of a segment, like we really care about Alpha Academy. We’re really invested in these two, and that’s it. By the time this is all said and done, congrats, bro; they ate up 31 minutes. Now we’ve got two hours and twenty-nine minutes left.”
Will Paul Heyman’s Tribal Chief gonna be able to defeat The Beast?
As been highlighted by Paul Heyman himself last Friday on Smackdown, his client Roman Reigns will need to bring out his absolute best on July 30th inorder to beat up Brock Lesnar this time. They both faced at Wrestlemania this year where Reigns won the match and clinched the WWE Championship from Lesnar to unify it with the Universal Title.
WWE is touting their Summerslam match to be the last one ever in their long- flooded rivalry that has been going from 2015. They had main-evented multiple Wrestlemanias together and locked horns on several other events as well. Both men are well aware of each other’s playbooks and that brings them weighing even in their Tale of the Tape.
