Sami Zayn was at a loss for words and yet had a lot to say after his iconic win at WrestleMania 40 against Gunther.

Sami Zayn did the impossible on WrestleMania 40 Night 1. Going into the match as the challenger, he was also considered an underdog for Gunther‘s Intercontinental Championship. However, he stayed true to his training, which aimed at dethroning The Ring General. As such, Zayn had a lot to say after his IC title victory.

In a backstage interview with Byron Saxton, Zayn was asked about his feelings about such a momentous win. Saxton described this as not just the four-time IC Champion Zayn, but a history-maker one. Sami started off by saying that he had no actual words to say and soaked up the silence to put them into words. However, he then proceeded to do a ‘word-vomit’ and just share his raw thoughts on the win.

The former Bloodline member paid his dues to Gunther for pushing him to his limits. Zayn claims the battle with The Ring General was the most physical match he has ever been in so far. Sami states that he tapped into something that he was not sure whether he had in it. Therefore, this historic win means so much to him now.

These words were followed by his wife, Khadijah, and son, Farhan, sharing the frame with him. Zayn then kissed his son on the cheeks, showed his title, and addressed himself as a champion. The mic handed over to the cute son of Zayn had him say, ‘I don’t know’ just like his father did to begin the interview. This alone was a wholesome moment for the Zayn family, coming from the match adversities.

Sami Zayn is one of WWE’s most beloved superstars. The Canadian star has impressed the WWE Universe with his wrestling skills and playful persona. By just observing the former Honorary Uce, one can easily tell that Zayn excels in his comedy timing and can crack anybody with his subtleness.

The same will be put to the test during his time on Netflix. It was announced last week that Zayn would be performing live stand-up comedy at the ‘Netflix is a Joke‘ festival. On May 11, 2024, he will do the on-stage act at Avalon Hollywood in LA. Sami posted on X about the tickets being on sale starting April 5.

There is still a month and a WWE PLE in between those stand-up shows. It will be exciting to see whether he remains the Intercontinental Champion or not. If so, the on-stage welcome of Zayn would feel even more special coming with the IC title and having the cheers at the global stage.
