Former WWE NXT Champion Samoa Joe is set to make an appearance in the new Peacock series, Twisted Metal. The adaptation of the popular video game series recently released ten episodes on July 27. Joe plays the character of an evil clown named Sweet Tooth. The series has Anthony Mackie playing John Doe, the main character.
In an interview with Deadline, Mackie spoke about working with the wrestling veteran. He said, “Samoa did not pull his punches. And I’m like, ‘Dude, you’re a professional wrestler. One thing you know how to do is not hit somebody.” Furthermore, the actor claimed he had fun working with the current Ring Of Honor World Television Champion.
Samoa Joe’s performance as Sweet Tooth has been well received by fans. Moreover, a lot of fans have commended his body language for pulling off the villainous character from the game. The former WWE star wasn’t the only professional wrestler to star alongside Anthony Mackie. The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was recently cast in Marvel’s Captain America: New World Order.
Samoa Joe was in the WWE for almost seven years, headlining several shows and winning the United States Championship twice on the main roster. Without a doubt, Joe’s tenure in the company was more associated with his run on the Golden Brand, NXT. In addition to that, he was assigned as a backstage trainer for young and upcoming talent before he was released. He is currently signed to ROH, and serves as their Television World Champion.

Brock Lesnar vs Samoa Joe was a dream match for many wrestling fans in the past. There were uncanny resemblances between the two men in terms of their fighting styles and character work. Therefore, after the Submission Machine left TNA and jumped ship to WWE, the audience was enticed by a mouth-watering battle involving him and the Beast.
Joe made his main roster debut in 2017 after dominating the NXT brand the previous year. Subsequently, he took only a few months to make his mark by winning a fatal five way match at that year’s Extreme Rules. Therefore, he earned a shot to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
Both heavyweights were involved in a brutal match at the next pay-per-view, Great Balls Of Fire, with the Beast retaining his championship. During their rivalry, Joe didn’t back away from facing off with Brock Lesnar. In fact, the Samoan trapped the champion in his submission maneuver, the Coquina Clutch, making him pass out.
He even showcased his mic skills, leveling up with Paul Heyman, who is considered the best talker in the business. Their final match was at SummerSlam, involving Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman as well. Samoa Joe’s encounter with Brock Lesnar was perhaps one of his best feuds in WWE.
