After overcoming two career-threatening neck injuries, Saraya fka Paige made her wrestling return with All Elite Wrestling. As we know, the former WWE Divas Champion had to retire from in-ring competition twice before her current venture. If we refresh our memories, back in late 2017, The Anti-Diva got caught with a devastating dropkick on her neck by Sasha Banks, thus ending her fairytale career in WWE.

After retirement, Saraya assumed a brand new role as Shane McMahon introduced her as the General Manager of SmackDown Live! She got into the groove rapidly, and fans started enjoying her new role in the company. However, the role did not last long and Paige was quietly removed from programming. A few months ago, she was released from her WWE contract.

The established female superstar made her emphatic AEW debut at Grand Slam this year. Immediately after entering the ring, she declared Tony Khan’s promotion as her home. That day we won, as another superstar who went through career-ending wounds, fought and dictated the narrative on her own, just like Edge and Christian did.

She recently made an appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette , the Anti-Diva listed down her goals in AEW and mentioned what she needs to stay away with. She said, “There is going to be bumps, I can’t just go into a match with zero bumps. I’m fully aware of stuff I can’t do when it comes to anything from behind………“.

Please don’t do anything from behind.’ That’s something I absolutely would not tolerate. That would piss me off. Until I’m fully comfortable with something, don’t do anything from behind when I’m not aware of it………I have to adjust how I did it because I was a person who would just fling my body back and it would be mostly neck. I have to learn how to flatback bump properly without creaming or killing myself.” (H/T – Fightful Wrestling)

From what was quite evident upon her arrival back at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Saraya and Britt Baker are in for some fight. We witnessed a trade of blows between the two on this week’s Dynamite. Former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker reminded Saraya to get an appointment with her.

This feud for so many reasons can be good, to begin with. First and foremost, this is probably the biggest women’s match the Jacksonville-based promotion can put together. Next, this can be a great way for either of them to exchange their wrestling experience with each other.

As we know, Saraya recently got the green signal to wrestle and she needs an experienced woman to tango with. Baker have been around for quite a while now and she should prove herself as the best choice for Saraya’s return match. They’re set to fight each at AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event.
