Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado who is popularly known as Sasha Banks is a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Sasha Banks made her debut in professional wrestling through Chaotic Wrestling. Banks during her time in Chaotic Wrestling managed to win the Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Championship and held on to the title for a total of 259 days before leaving the company.

Sasha banks made her WWE debut through WWE’s developmental program first appearing in 2012 in NXT in a losing effort to Paige. During her time in NXT she defeated Bayley, Becky Lynch and Charlotte in fatal four-way match to win the NXT Women’s Title for the first time. Sasha went on to hold the title for 192 days before dropping it to Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklynn. Sasha Banks her debut on the main roster in 2015 appearing on a weekly episode of Raw.

Sasha Banks would later go on to win the WWE Raw Women’s Championship multiple times while feuding with the likes of Charlotte Flair , Bayley ,Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss. Banks also won the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship and was also the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team champion along with Bayley. Sasha is considered as one of the pioneers of the Women’s revolution in WWE.

In an interview with bleacher sports the former women’s champion discussed about the women’s division in the company:

“I feel like we’ve been knocking down every door that’s been closed in front of us,” Banks said. “If they keep making more doors, we’re going to keep knocking them down. The WWE women’s division is the best it’s ever been. I think it’s the greatest of any era from top to bottom, and I can’t wait to see what more the future brings, even from NXT 2.0. To see how many women are down there from when I first started, there was only a group of eight and now there’s maybe a group of 30. Just to see the growth from then to now is so beautiful.”

Sasha Banks post Wrestlemania 38 won the WWE Women’s Tag Team championship for the 2nd time teaming up with Naomi. There title reign was cut short when Sasha and Naomi both decided to walk away from the company leaving the titles vacant.
