Former WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks and Bayley have a storied history with each other, the two real life friends have been feuding against one another since there NXT days. During their time in NXT The boss and Bayley in a battle for the NXT Women’s Championship had two of the best matches in the NXT history.  During their feud in NXT Sasha was portrayed as the heel and Bayley as the Lovable baby face. In the first match at NXT Takeover : Brooklynn the two put on an all-time classic for the NXT Women’s Championship which Bayley ended up winning.

On the main roster however, the roles were inverted and Bayley turned on Sasha Banks to set up a match that had been years in the making. Sasha in an interview with Digital Spy spilled the details of the epic feud :

“This whole storyline with Bayley, it was a long time coming and there were times in the past where we saw it stop and go, but in the long run we really had to have the fans see this long, long friendship which you don’t really get to see in the WWE too often.”

Sasha Banks would go on to share more details about the feud:

“Five years of this journey, of this friendship growing and growing, and then Bayley turning on me… it’s been everything that I’ve ever wanted. I got really inspired from Trish Stratus and Mickie James – they had a year-long storyline when I was watching as a teenager. That’s what I wanted growing up, I wanted a year-long storyline where you just were on the ride the whole time. So for us, it’s kind of like a revamp of that. But it’s really cool to see just the investment and time WWE has given to, not only myself and Bayley, but all of the women in WWE. It’s just been non-stop of this incredible momentum of women just taking over the company.”

The Sasha Banks and Bayley storyline was one of the greatest women’s feud in the recent history of WWE and is one of the reasons why the women’s division is on its way up in the WWE.
