One of the main events of SummerSlam 2023 was Seth Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor. The match had its own hype and story behind it. Due to the history these two superstars shared with each other, it added extra flavor to the bout. The highlight of the match that captured fans’ attention was Seth Rollins’ ring gear. The Visionary walked in with the exact same gear he used in his match against Balor at SummerSlam 2016.

Seth Rollins wanted to play mind games with The Judgment Day member. Therefore, he chose to wear the exact same ring gear in the match. The Champion had his gear on because he wanted to remind Balor of the outcome they had during their last confrontation at SummerSlam. Although Finn Balor won the inaugural Universal Championship back then, Rollins injured him, which led him to relinquish his title the next day.

Over the past, Seth Rollins has played many mind games against his opponents during his matches. He did this once again at SummerSlam 2023. The feud between Rollins and Balor is seven years in the making and therefore WWE left no stone unturned to center the storyline around this.
