Seth Rollins stomping Riddle into the steel steps
Seth Rollins was set to be a part of massive grudge match against The Original Bro come this Saturday at Summerslam until few hours ago, as now that match has been taken off the charts due to an injury which was sustained by Riddle as part of heinous assault on the ringside area by the hands of The Visionary.
This was by far one of the fresh and exciting matchup on the cards for the second biggest WWE show of the calendar for which the fans were genuinely hyped up for. As soon as WWE officially announced that this match have been postponed for a later date due to Riddle’s condition which would keep him away from the ring for nearly a month, the fans got heavily disappointed as they were all set to see these two supreme athletes throw it all against each other at Summerslam.
Well, if you’re actually wondering if this is a legit injury or just a part of the storyline, just hold on as the people who guessed the second part of the situation were absolutely correct.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has exclusively reported that Rollins vs. Riddle being taken off was just due to “creative adjustments” and the injury to Riddle is just a part of the storyline angle as this match is likely being shifted to Clash at the Castle premium live event in September. Additionally, Seth Rollins is still expected to travel to Nashville for this weekend, not sure what his role would be at the event on Saturday night.
“WWE announced Wednesday that the match would not be taking place, citing an injury to Riddle. We’re told that the injury is kayfabe, and there are a plans to do the match down the line. Those we spoke to claim it was due to ‘creative adjustments’. We’re told talent was informed Monday, and the working plan was to have the match take place at Clash at the Castle in September. However, with the ever-changing WWE landscape, it’s quite possible that isn’t final. As of now, Seth Rollins is still expected to travel to Nashville for Summerslam weekend, and has media obligations scheduled Friday.”
What could be in store for Seth Rollins at Summerslam?
Although his match against Riddle is not happening anymore at Summerslam, there are still hard nuts to crack Rollins’ absence at such a marquee event and which makes a room for Seth Rollins to repeat something like this year’s Wrestlemania. Stand in the ring, throw an open challenge and wait for someone to stun him one more time.
