Absent WWE Superstar hits back at a fan who claimed he’s not interested in seeing the former’s “5-star” matches
Sheamus isn't the one to mess around both inside and outside of the ring.

WWE Superstars often use social media to gauge the interest of their fans. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. However, for someone like Sheamus, who’s been absent from WWE programming since August, it’s not hard to sweep the trolls. Recently, The Celtic Warrior teased his in-ring return, asking who’s ready to see him dish out five-star bangers again. A fan, in response, said that he’d take captivating storylines over such graded-bouts.
Even though it didn’t look like the fan had any malice towards the Irishman, Sheamus hit back with a savage reply. The 45-year-old asked him to go watch “soap opera” then. Fans in the comment section lauded Sheamus for standing up for himself. A few of them suggested that he should jump ship to AEW, if he’s hellbent on having erratic in-ring clinics, with little to no build-up.
In his recent ventures on X, Sheamus has conspicuously underscored his unfinished beef with Gunther. One day or another, the former Brawling Brutes supremo dreams of subduing The Ring General. Not to forget that his Clash at the Castle classic against Gunther received full marks from Dave Meltzer of WON. It was the second WWE match of 2022, after Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell, to be rated five stars.

It appears like Sheamus hasn’t been able to get over that loss and wants to have another go. The Celtic Warrior last wrestled on the August 18th edition of SmackDown. On the show, he succumbed to Edge, which served as The Rated-R Superstar’s farewell match. After that, it was reported that Sheamus had sustained a shoulder injury, and he was written off television.
Why was Sheamus unhappy with WWE?
At times, WWE fails to follow up on a superstar’s momentum. And Sheamus believed he’s one such victim. Back in August, he expressed his frustration in an interview with the Daily Star. Speaking about his loss against Gunther in the United Kingdom, Sheamus wasn’t mad about the outcome.
However, the former World Champion felt that WWE squandered a golden chance to capitalize on his red-hot form. Sheamus called it a dead end, just like what happened with him after WrestleMania 39.
In Hollywood, he fell again in pursuit of ousting Gunther for the Intercontinental title in a triple threat match that included Drew McIntyre. Once again, the Irish wrestler called out WWE for their creative bankruptcy that plagued his on-screen spur.
