He stated that WWE failed to cash in on his momentum after his match at Clash at the Castle against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship.

While speaking with the Daily Star. Sheamus said he was in red-hot form after his performance at the Cardiff Premium Live Event. He believes that WWE should have capitalized on that momentum but failed to do so. He said, “I came out of that with so much organic momentum, and it was just wasted. It didn’t go anywhere. He was truly in red-hot form and the crowd has been thunderous throughout the months. However, according to him, all his hype and momentum went to waste because the company did not harness them. The Celtic Warrior was put into lackluster feuds after the rivalry with Gunther, which destroyed his momentum.

Sheamus is currently aligned with his faction, The Brawling Brutes. He will be competing in the Slim Jim Battle Royal this Sunday at SummerSlam. It will be interesting to see how Sheamus performs in the match. The quest for the IC title is never-ending for Sheamus, as it is the last championship for him to achieve in order to become the Grand Slam Champion.

The Intercontinental Championship holds a great deal of prestige in WWE. Honky Tonk Man has engraved his name in history books as he is the longest reigning IC Champion. His legendary reign of 454 days is considered the greatest by many. However, the current Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, is close to beating that record.

Recently, an image of Honky Tonk Man and his manager, Jimmy Hart, surfaced on the internet. However, the face of Honky Tonk has been replaced with Sheamus by a Twitter user. This tweet suggests that Sheamus should be the one to break the WWE legend’s iconic reign.

The Celtic Warrior hilariously replied to the tweet by quoting the lyrics of the theme song of the Honky Tonk Man. The internet community believes that Sheamus agrees with the tweet and supports it. It will be interesting to see if he can capture the Intercontinental title at some point in his career. Sheamus will compete in the Slim Jim Battle Royal this Sunday at SummerSlam.
