WATCH: Shinsuke Nakamura shockingly turns heel on WWE Raw, takes out Seth Rollins after the main-event
The King of Strong Style blindsided Seth Rollins moments after their massive win in the main event of Monday Night Raw.
Shinsuke Nakamura finally turned heel on WWE RAW
Shinsuke Nakamura had a foolproof plan last night on RAW. At first, he defeated Bronson Reed to avenge his DQ loss from three weeks ago. The King of Strong Style has been teasing a subtle change in his character for the last few weeks on RAW. And that paid dividends on this week’s show. Fresh off his victory over Reed, Nakamura was interviewed backstage, which was shortly cut to catch a sneak ambush.
That saw JD McDonagh brutally attack Sami Zayn. As a result, the latter was removed from his scheduled spot in the 6-man tag team main event. Sensing a brilliant opportunity to prove his point, Nakamura offered Seth Rollins to be a replacement, which The Visionary gleefully accepted. As a result, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura took on The Judgment Day. Despite some resistance, the babyfaces emerged victorious.
However, after the match, Nakamura laid out Rollins with a Kinshasa, leaving fans in shock. The heel turn from Nakamura didn’t come out of the blue, as he has been piling up the grief of everyone else taking away his opportunities. In several interviews, the 43-year-old expressed his disdain and vowed to carve his own path. Therefore, he did exactly that last night in Minnesota.
Quite evidently, the King of Strong Style has been a staple on the red brand since the WWE Draft. He’s regularly featured on the show, dishing out clinics every other week. Triple H’s been a fan of Nakamura’s work and the WWE CCO is looking to establish the Japanese wrestler as a villainous entity on RAW. Last time around, Shin’s heel run didn’t work out under Vince McMahon; however, the case might be different under The Game’s regime.

Seth Rollins will look for payback against Shinsuke Nakamura
After what transpired this week, Seth Rollins‘ direction is clear as daylight. He’d now be gunning to avenge Nakamura’s betrayal at any cost. That said, the WWE Universe just found out their next program for the World Heavyweight Championship. One way or the other, the 43-year-old wrestler will ask Rollins to put his gold on the line.
And, with WWE Payback almost a month awy, this could be a top contender to close the night in Pittsburgh. These men have faced each other on numerous occasions in the past. Most recently, Nakamura and Rollins were involved in a triple threat match, also featuring Damian Priest, on RAW after Backlash. Back then, The Visionary pinned The King of Strong Style after a wicked stomp.
The key point is, they’ve never shared the ring with a World Title up for grabs. This could very well change next month. The general reception to Shinsuke’s turn on Rollins has been positive. Fans are quite sanguine about the potential involved in their feud. For sure, the upcoming weeks on Monday Night Raw are going to be a can’t-miss affair.
