Former Royal Rumble Winner can return to WWE TV after WrestleMania
There seems to be a plan in place for the return of the 2018 Royal Rumble winner, as WWE CCO Triple H looks to "revitalize" him in the company.

The artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura has not been seen in WWE for months, last competing on SmackDown in November. While the real reason behind this absence remains unclear, there seem to be certain plans in place for his future.
Recently, Xero News reported that the 2018 Royal Rumble Winner is due for his return to WWE following WrestleMania. The reports suggest that Triple H wants to “revitalize” Shinsuke Nakamura to the status he had before WrestleMania 34. Hence, The Game might be looking to build up another main event star in the former NXT Champion.
The Wrestling Blog on Twitter soon corroborated this report and added the specific date of Nakamura’s return. They tweeted, “I’m hearing from one of my sources Shinsuke Nakamura might do he’s ring return to the RAW Brand and not SmackDown, creative team see more potential for him at RAW, but as of right now he is scheduled to return to SmackDown after WrestleMania.”
Shinsuke Nakamura was a top-tier star in NJPW and the black and gold NXT. However, just like any other NXT call-up, the Japanese wrestler wasn’t used to his full potential. Although he did challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34, the title win always eluded him. Based on their history, Triple H and the 43-year-old superstar appear to be on good terms, and the CCO clearly sees a lot of value in Nakamura.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s absence from WWE programming
The King of Strong Style was last seen in WWE on the November 11th episode of SmackDown. On the show, Shinsuke Nakamura lost the World Cup first-round match to Santos Escobar. Since then, the former Intercontinental Champion has only done Live Events and Dark matches, barring one big match in the new year.
The former NJPW wrestler returned to his home country on January 1st to face The Great Muta on NOAH’s New Year’s special event. However, this was not a full-time commitment from Nakamura. Triple H agreed to the one-time match as the Japanese legend was bound to retire soon. Furthermore, Nakamura expressed a strong desire to participate in the event. The Great Muta is also going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame come WrestleMania week.
Nevertheless, the absence of Shinsuke Nakamura from WWE doesn’t seem to be caused by any serious injuries, but rather by a creative void. Hence, Triple H is just putting a pause on one of his biggest prospects in NXT until after WrestleMania. The recent report will bring excitement to the WWE Universe as they would love to sing along to one of the greatest themes in WWE again.
